Slide Away offers a bereavement support service to children and young people in West Kent...
Slide Away offers support to children and young people in West Kent who have been bereaved of a family member or friend. We also support children and young people who have a parent or sibling with a life limiting illness.
Slide Away is working with Abigail's Footsteps to ensure that there is support for siblings who are affected by a stillbirth or neonatal death. Abigail's Footsteps will fund places at one of Slide Away's two-day workshops for children in West Kent.
Slide Away is looking for volunteers/workshop assistants to work with us at our therapeutic workshops. Slide Away will be offering six workshops in the next academic year, of which you may be expected to support three or four, from 8.30am to 3.30pm on a Tuesday and from 8.30am to 4.30pm on Wednesday. You will also need to be available for a clinical supervision session, usually held on the Monday evening following the workshop. Ideally, you will have an educational background or have worked with children in the past, but all applications will be considered and are subject to a full DBS disclosure. If you would like further details about working with Slide Away, please email Sharon Clancey at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are also looking for volunteers to arrange fundraising events for Slide Away, such as quiz nights. If you would be interested in helping, please contact Sharon, details above.
