Slide Away is pleased to announce that we intend to resume some face-to-face services, in line with the Government’s lifting of restrictions.
Our intention is to resume two-day workshops face-to-face for children and young people who have been bereaved of a parent or sibling in the summer term, therefore, giving priority to those children with the greatest need. We aim to run additional workshops to enable us to offer all children a workshop placement as soon as we possibly can.
To enable us to prioritise the workshops for those children in greatest need, our memory days to support children who have been bereaved of another family member or friend will not resume face-to-face at the time being. However, all children who have been referred to us for support on a memory day will be offered support via Zoom until we resume face-to-face memory days. All children on our referral list in need of support at a memory day will be offered a face-to-face session when they resume, whether they accepted support via Zoom or not.
We will contact all families to offer them either a face-to-face workshop or virtual memory day support in the coming weeks and will inform schools of any support that has been accepted by their children and young people.
We continue to accept new referrals and will offer these children and young people support as soon as we are able to. New referrals should be sent Denise Ross email@example.com or 07970 597715.
We are very aware that Slide Away's work is about bringing together bereaved children and their families to alleviate the 'isolation' of grief. We are, therefore, available to answer any questions you may have about supporting children, from parents, carers, and schools, whilst they are awaiting placement. Our contact number is 07970 597715 email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Slide Away is continually reviewing the situation as the government updates its rules and guidance, and any plans may subsequently change in line with government guidance. A copy of our COVID-19 risk assessment is available below.
In the meantime, we are updating our website to provide up-to-date information to schools, parents, and carers. Please check back regularly for the latest information.
Thank you for your understanding.
